A chain is only as strong as what joins it. Every connecting part below is rated to work with the chain and anchors it’s paired with, not sold as a generic fitting. Mixing an under-rated shackle with a heavy-grade chain is one of the more common ways a mooring fails, so we size each part to the assembly it’s going into rather than selling it in isolation.
Certification
Rated to the chain, not just the catalogue.
A shackle or swivel that’s under-rated for its chain is the weak link in the system, regardless of what the chain itself is certified to. We match every connecting part’s working load and breaking load to the chain or anchor it’s supplied with, and issue a certificate for the part itself, not just the assembly. That certificate travels with the part — the same way it travels with every length of chain and every anchor we ship.
Certification is traced to the IACS unified requirements that classification societies apply to anchoring and mooring equipment.

What's the difference between a shackle and a swivel?
A shackle is a rigid link that joins two fixed points, such as chain to anchor. A swivel does the same job but rotates freely under load, so the chain can release twist instead of transferring it up to the windlass and deck fittings.
