Anchor Chains
All diameters of chain cable are available. Our anchor chains are stocked in stud-link and short-link construction, calibrated to DIN766 and DIN763, plus NACM2010 stainless steel — every length class-certified and ready to ship from our yard in Rotterdam.
Product Range
Two anchor chains. Every diameter.
Whichever construction your vessel calls for, we hold both types in stock, ready to cut to length and certify against the standard you need — no minimum order, and no wait for a mill run.
Grades & Standards
What "certified" means here.
Every batch we ship is traced to a standard and a certificate — not a marketing claim. Calibration matters because a windlass gypsy is machined to a specific link pitch and diameter: chain that isn’t calibrated to the matching standard will slip, jam, or wear the gypsy out early. We calibrate and gauge every length before it leaves the yard.
The three specifications we’re asked for most:
| Standard | Construction | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| DIN766 Calibrated | Short-link, calibrated | Windlass-driven anchor chain, yachts & commercial craft |
| DIN763 Calibrated | Short-link, calibrated | General-purpose calibrated chain for winches & lifting |
| NACM2010 | Stainless steel, short-link | Corrosion-critical mooring and deck applications |
Certificates are issued per length, traced to the IACS unified requirements that classification societies apply to chain cable. If your vessel’s flag requires a particular society’s stamp — Lloyd’s Register, DNV, or another IACS member — tell us when you request a quote and we’ll match the paperwork to it before dispatch.
Questions
Answered straight, no sales pitch.
What sizes are available?
All diameters, stocked and ready to cut to length. Tell us the diameter and grade and we’ll confirm availability and lead time from stock — most sizes ship within days.
What's the difference between stud-link and short-link chain?
Stud-link chain carries a stud across each link to stop it collapsing under load and is standard for commercial vessels. Short-link chain has no stud, runs lighter and quieter over a windlass, and is common on yachts and smaller craft.
Are Carbon Chains anchor chains certified?
Yes. Every length leaves the yard rated and certified, traceable to class societies operating under the IACS unified requirements — the paperwork ships with the chain.
Can I get calibrated chain to DIN766 or DIN763?
Yes. We stock DIN766 calibrated chain, DIN763 calibrated chain, and NACM2010 stainless steel chain, all held in Rotterdam and ready to ship.
